Our Association
Cunningham District Bowls Association
Formed in 1988, the Cunningham District Bowls Association is one of 20 Districts within Queensland, and comprises 25 clubs and approximately 1800 members.
Geograpically, the District covers over 6500 sq. kilometres stretching west of the South East Freeway through to the western border of Ipswich and from the QLD/NSW border near Mt Barney heading north to the southern side of the Brisbane river right through to its source near Toogoolawah. Cunningham District encompasses four Regional Authorities: Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim and Somerset.
Cunningham is a unified District having one Management Committee which is responsible for all District Bowls matters. The Management Committee is elected annually and reports to Club Delegates at biannual Council meetings. Sub-committees for Match, Umpire, Systems Admin, Men’s and Ladies Selectors are appointed and are responsible for their respective areas. All sub-committees report directly to Management Committee.
The District has been proactive in recent years, adopting technology to administer all District events on-line using the Bowls Australia BowlsLink Whole of Sport IT system as well as Livestreaming as many Finals as possible.
